Creating the Perfect Glass Effect
Glassmorphism describes UI elements that look like translucent frosted glass. The effect is achieved using the CSS backdrop-filter property along with semi-transparent backgrounds and subtle borders.
Key Ingredients
- Blur: The
backdrop-filter: blur()rule is the core. It blurs what's *behind* the element. - Transparency: The background color must use RGBA with a low alpha value (e.g., 0.2) to let the background show through.
- Border: A thin, semi-transparent white border adds definition and simulates the edge of glass.
- Saturation: Increasing
saturate()in the backdrop filter makes the colors behind the glass pop more.
