How to Calculate Percentages?
Percentages are used everywhere—from shopping discounts to tax calculations. Here are the formulas our calculator uses:
1. Percentage of a Number
Formula: (P / 100) × V
Example: What is 20% of 500?
(20 ÷ 100) × 500 = 100
2. Find the Percentage
Formula: (A / B) × 100
Example: 50 is what % of 200?
(50 ÷ 200) × 100 = 25%
3. Percentage Increase/Decrease
Formula: ((New - Old) / |Old|) × 100
Example: Price goes from 100 to 150.
((150 - 100) ÷ 100) × 100 = 50% Increase
