About This PNG / JPG to SVG Converter
Our free online SVG converter uses advanced bitmap tracing technology (powered by Potrace and ImageMagick) to convert your raster images into clean, scalable vector graphics. Whether you need to vectorize a logo, a hand-drawn signature, a font sample, or any flat artwork, this tool delivers accurate and usable SVG output — directly in your browser, with no software to install.
Why Convert Images to SVG?
Raster formats like PNG and JPG are pixel-based. When you enlarge them, they become blurry or pixelated. SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) files are based on mathematical paths, which means they remain perfectly sharp at any size — whether displayed on a mobile screen or printed on a billboard. SVG files are also smaller in file size for simple graphics, easy to edit in tools like Illustrator, Inkscape, or Figma, and fully supported in all modern browsers.
Common Use Cases
- Logo Vectorization: Convert a PNG logo into an SVG that can be resized without quality loss.
- Signature to SVG: Turn a scanned handwritten signature into a clean vector file.
- Icon & Clipart Tracing: Convert flat icons or clipart into editable SVG paths.
- Laser Cutting & CNC: Prepare vector files suitable for cutting machines and engravers.
- Web Design: Use lightweight SVG icons and graphics on websites for faster loading.
- Font Artwork: Trace text rendered in decorative fonts into vector outlines.

- Step 4 — Generate: Click the "Generate SVG" button. Your vector file will be ready within seconds.
- Step 5 — Download: Click "Open Download Page" to preview and download your final SVG file.
Understanding the Settings
- Threshold: Controls the cutoff between black and white during tracing. Lower values = more detail, higher values = simpler output.
- Noise Removal: Removes small specks and artifacts from the traced output. Increase this for noisy or low-quality scans.
- Corner Smoothness: Determines how sharp or smooth corners are rendered in the SVG paths.
- Curve Accuracy: Controls how closely the SVG paths follow the original pixel edges.
- Invert Output: Flips black and white — useful if your artwork is white on a dark background.
